Spacious Outdoor Play and Learning Spaces

At Educare Academy, we offer several programs designed to encourage all children to discover, grow, and explore while laying the foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Our primary focus is meeting each child’s individual needs and fostering their growth. Children are placed in a classroom that best meets their needs and encourages them to develop at their own pace. This establishes self-confidence and healthy growth, which results in a strong, positive self-image.

Infants

Lifelong learning begins in the infant room! We understand and celebrate that every infant is unique and may have their own schedule or unique needs. From day one we partner closely with you to understand these needs, making the transition into care easier. On an ongoing basis, we provide you with daily logs of feedings, changes, happenings and new activities to keep you informed about both the big and the very little things that take place every day for your precious little one. Our cozy infant spaces are warm, nurturing spaces, intended to foster and grow and deep connection between your family and our infant caregivers.

To help lift ease the workload for families, we’re partnering with the Cuties Care program to provide diapers and wipes for babies and toddlers while they attend our school. For $10 a week, Cuties Care covers the cost of diapers and wipes. We know parents have a million things to manage—we’re happy to cross diapers off the list.

Toddlers

We believe that play is learning and that a toddler’s day should be filled with opportunities for rich play that is enhanced by teacher interactions.

Our colorful, safe classrooms encourage both learning and social/emotional growth through discovery, sharing, and independence. Our toddler program begins to introduce new language concepts and skills through story time, games and make-believe. Physical skills are developing through push and pull toys, stacking, block play, creative movement, and the use of musical instruments. Toddlers begin to discover shapes and colors, and expand their sense through hands-on arts and crafts activities.

Early Head Start

Educare Academy partners with both Lucas County Family Council and Great Lakes Community Action Partnership to offer EHS to the youngest of the county’s at-risk children (under age three), preparing them for a successful transition into preschool and the traditional Head Start program. Educare Academy and our partners believe quality, comprehensive services—starting early and continuing through preschool—help prepare children for school and support parents in guiding their children’s everyday learning.

Head Start

Continuing Early Head Start’s critical work, Head Start (HS) further promotes and strengthens school readiness for preschool-aged children from low-income families. Providing care and preschool services for children ages three through five, Educare Academy has teamed up with Lucas County Family Council and Great Lakes Community Action Partnership at several of our Toledo and surrounding locations to offer HS. Our goal? Enhancing children’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development, so they’re ready to succeed when entering kindergarten.

PreK

This program focuses on kindergarten readiness skills. Fine motor skills are taken further by teaching children to write their name and use correct strokes to form letters of the alphabet. We further expand the skills they have begun to develop in vocabulary and reading basic words. We create intentional learning experiences to expand their critical thinking skills. Children learn how to identify patterns, complete sequences, and follow multiple-step directions. This gives our children the confidence to transition right into elementary school.

Our PreK program is free to 3- and 4-year-old students whose families meet certain income guidelines. Please contact us to see if your student qualifies for free PreK.
